Since the Peavey 5150 is more focused on low-mids, and the painkiller is more for high-mids, would this really be a good match? Would it maybe help "widen" the amp a bit?
What is this "Monster Miracle Man"? Is this an overwound MM? If it is, I wonder if the same can be done for PK and if it would still sound great. Which brings me to: what are the tonal qualities of the C-Pig...compared to a PK/MM?
I'm looking for a bright melodic sound...lots of mids and presence, a mix between 80's and modern metal. I will also be doing some downtuning, and mostely be playing thrash and fast technical death metal, so I'm really thinking PK here......plus CS in neck.
I really want the upper-mids. I don't really like Zack Wylde's tone, and I think that may be what the MM's will give me.
Thanks
