I love my GT8 for overdrives, wah, chorus, delay etc but I never use the preamp models. Most people hear the preamps and get put off the whole thing which is udnerstandable but when you spend time messing about you can get some cool sounds!

The guy who designed the axe-fx was a bit of a w**ker towards someone I know (One of Neil Diamonds guitarists) which put me off a bit. Seems like a cool unit though!

Reverb seems a tiny bit synthetic (I suppose it might be a reverb model added after the power amp). Amp model is entirely convincing again in my opinion.

Got mine last week, after a year on the waiting list. I own tube amps, but wanted to give this a try for recording.
So far, impressed - but the presets aren't to my taste at all. I needed to work with it for a while to get a sound I like, and then it's extremely close to the sound & feel of a tube amp.
Great fun!  :o
