Something that would help keep the pickups forum tidy

There should be a post/form titled "unsure on which BKP you need for your desired sound"

And it should be a serious of questions such as

Name & Model of Guitar

Body Wood

Neck Wood

Fretboard Wood

Neck Joint type

Describe the sound you require (Name a few bands/artists)

After filling this in, the results should be forwarded to Tim via PM.
I believe that this would cut down on the large number of posts that just get the same reply of ask TIM.

it might be nice to have a 'read before posting' sticky with these sorts of questions.

don't agree about forwarding to tim though. the pickup forum is a good place to get another viewpoint. for example tim once recommended me painkillers for a certain tone, where twilight oddessy suggested the miracle man. in fact, TO was right that time (maybe because he knows me and the sound i like a bit more). Another time Tim suggested Rebel Yells to me, PhilKing thought Holy Diver... and the Holy Divers were closer, but in that case Phil had tried my guitar through his rig and so on.

what i'm saying is, tim surely knows his range better than anyone, but even he can't possibly have tried all combinations, where as maybe someone on the forum has.

Thats a very good point.

Maybe a sound selector sort of thing wouold be handy prior to starting the new thread.
