Okay, further experimenting today has yielded the following ...

1. Dos Mos > Big D > CPR = POO. Really, terrible tone; it's contricted and flatulent.

2. Dos Mos > CPR > Big D = GODLY !!! The tone is smooth, very pro sounding, and postiviely HUGE!!  It's like all the detail that gets captured by the Dos Mos is then enlarged and made beefier before it goes to the OD. I'm also not experiencing that diminishing of the pick attack any more!

I can see that I'm going to have a lot of fun with this pedal.

Is a conductor made from multiple wires (ie stranded rather than solid core) a cable or a wire then????

depends if the wires themselves are insulated    .. basicaly it's a mesh/stranded wire as it doesnt matter which wire you pick at one end, every wire at the oposite end is going to conduct. (we usualy call it soft wire)

People who work in electronics have a completly different take on descriptions offered by electricians!

it's really two diferent worlds. i'm a bit out of practice on the electronics bit (school is couple of years back .. ) but a cable is made of multiple independently insulated wires, who are in turn insulated in a thicker rubber jacket making it a whole

but lets not hijack bens thread further =)
