Yeah, I understand it all fully now. Thanks guys. I'll look up more into this, I'll be buying the book to read up on, even if I don't necessarily build it now.

i had that book for about four years before starting my first  build... it was usefull for all kinds of guitar set-up, finishing and modification.  definately a good buy

Have to agree that book is a tome of greatness! I have started making my first now, but am going to nick the neck off an existing guitar. Basically I'm just copying the measurements of my Mockingbird as I will be using a fixed bridge that is almost the same dimensions as the basic strat-style trem that was on the 'Bird. But for my next project (inspired by Jonathon's Emerald beauty!) I am aiming to be more ambitious, so the Book will be constantly open on my workbench.  :D

Good luck with your first build mate, hope you'll be having as much fun with it as I'm having with mine!  :D
