Reccomendations to replace the cr@ppy Actives in my Ibanez
« on: August 28, 2008, 10:08:40 AM »
I've had one of these for a few months now and it's great to play but I'm just not happy with the pickups (surprise surprise) They're muddy ill defined and the only thing wrong with what is a great guitar.

I have a LesPaul With Rebel Yells which I like a lot, but I want maybe (I Think) something a bit more Metal for this. It's Mahogany with a Maple Cap but nowhere near as thick as a Les Paul, has a great unplugged tone.

I play generally punky bluesy rock
Tones I love Billy Duffy Sonic Temple Era, Early Alice in Chains, Nice cleans would be a bonus too  :D

I know it'll be a pain to swap out, new pots and full wiring required but I need to get rid of these actives.

For some reason Cold sweats were the first ones to come into my mind.
