But then the Edwards may not offer such good value for money as it did six months ago, and he may wish to explore other avenues.

Absolutely.   I just meant if Lew (or anyone) finds exactly what he wants, and it's in dollars, I don't think there's any point waiting for the price to improve.

actually the pound/dollar rate is more or less what it always has been for the past while(1:2)- one of the few advantages of the dollar performing as badly as the pound, lol (EDIT: just checked and the pound seems to have slipped a little against the dollar- that must be pretty recent  :? :x ). it's the pound versus yen, and pound versus euro, where things seem to have slipped very badly- certainly the euro used to only buy you about 65p, now that's more like 80p (which affects prices on thomann etc.), and when i got my edwards a pound bought you around 240yen, when i checked yesterday on xe, that was down to 190 yen, which is quite a difference! it had actually started to recover a few weeks back, but it seems to have slipped even further again.

another very important point that philly mentioned is that it could get worse- and certainly with ishibashi you normally have to wait a few weeks until they've got one they can send out, and they won't charge you till you get it, so you could end up paying more than you expect. I'd hold off for a while to be honest.

You guys should have joined the EURO years ago, then you could have cheap Edwards too, like we EUROpeans do :O)

Just joking.

I have 2 Edwards, a JP Relic and a white custom 3 PU model.

Actually the white 3PU custom, all stock, has become my favourite guitar at the moment. It doesn't have BKPs, but everything on that guitar just works. It is heavy, but it gives a meaty tone, very nice cleans on the in between and neck positions.

Electronics are cheapo, but on the white one it doesn't bother me at the moment.

I can only recommend Edwards. I suggest to buy from seller yasoomusic on ebay, just search "edwards" on ebay.com and you'll find him.

Or Hisashi (hisashi0731), or Katana Guitars (mijsixstringskatana).  I've bought from all three, and they're excellent - very helpful and honest.

The ill timed comments by Alistair Darling and their catastrophic effect on the pound and the LSE were top of the news and all over the front pages last week.
