Faith Acoustics?
« on: September 18, 2008, 01:28:34 PM »
Sorry no BKP's here.
Has anyone go or tried a Faith Acoustic in any of the various guises. It looks like I'm putting a new acoustic on my Christmas (Sorry) list. I will of course try lots before I settle on one. However I've heard good things about these so far and will get down to the local dealer for a good try soon.
BKP forum opinions are worth far more than other sites so I thought I'd ask anyway.

Main use will be ala Steve Earle, Black Crowes and learning to finger pick properly, being able to handle alternate tunings would be nice but I'm not sure how Acoustics are with this kinda extra stress (No higher than open E)

Not had a lot of experience with acoustics, but when I was playing with the idea of getting one I checked a few different makes out and decided a Faith was best for me. It just felt really nice to play and had a gorgeous sound, but was affordable at the same time. I still have my eye on one of the Black ones, hehe, but I won't be buying anything for a while.

In my opinion, for the price, they are one of the best options out there. :good:

Cheers, I thought he may have been using the hand made Patrick Eggle ones but  I've just had a look on Youtube and he's demoing a parlour size one which is standard and well priced and it sounds very nice. Cracking playing too.

I have a Faith acoustic, it was my 18th birthday present from my parents in fact. It's an excellent guitar for the money, my budget was quite a lot larger than the asking price, but it blew away the more expensive guitars I tried out.
With acoustics, I find it's really necessary to try several out, even of the same model. I tried several identical guitars to mine, and the one I chose was very noticeably better sounding than the others. FWIW I preferred the sound of the satin-finished Faiths over the gloss-finished ones.

Not heard any bad things about Faith's either.Haven't managed to get me hands on one tho. About  finishes, two twins I teach have identical Adam Blacks apart from the finish, the gloss one is noticeably less "alive" sounding for want of a better word, the satin ones really rather nice, though neither are are nice as me Taylor (but then they wouldn't be would they )
