Looking for good tech in Yorkshire/Manchester
« on: September 07, 2008, 07:52:04 PM »
I'm after a pro set-up, possible fret dress, in Yorkshire area, could easily travel to Manchester. I came across a guy
based in Milnrow called Matt Ryan, his website looks ok. Anyone used him? I'm often in Manchester area with work
so could easily drop off/collect guitar, hopefully same day.

Matt Ryan is awesome mate.  He's set up most of my guitars, done nut and bridge replacements and a fret dress.  Prices are very reasonable and his work is absolutely first class.  If you read the testimonials on his website, you'll see what other people think of him too.  My first choice of tech and totally recommended.

I'm just about to email him about a re-fret on one of my guitars actually...

Matt  worked at Sounds Great for years, I was going in for at least 10 years when he worked there.  He always sorted my guitars and is a top bloke.  He left Sounds Great to start up on his own but they still use him for setups / repairs etc so he's obviously well regarded.

He'll have your frets so shiny you will be able to style your hair looking at them  :D

I've used Steve for basic setups and wasn't impressed - just my opinion of course, but Matt did much nicer work.

My Epi SG is going to Matt for a re-fret tomorrow  :D
