I really like the look of the ash. It's so understated yet classy. Congrats with your ax.

Congrats mate, playing the prototype B6 still sticks out in my head as one of the most fun moments I've had with a guitar. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play one of the production ones soon.. Dez?

So the bodies are now swamp ash like the B2/B7s?

Yep, Doug apparently found a way of getting swamp ash at roughly the same price as the idigbo. Since he considers it a similar but superior tonewood he went for it.

Thanks for all who appreciate what it is. I have more ornate guitars to be sure, but the Blackmachine had a familiar feel to it right from the start and it is moving right into the #2 spot in my line up, (my SG is #1 for reasons beyond your comprehension).

I have not had a chance to lay down any tru oil on it yet, however, it seems as though Doug may have put a coat or two on it. The American Swamp Ash has a great reverberant sound to it, and I am digging the reverse headstock like the B2. The Indian Rosewood on the fret board and headstock feels as good as it looks. I thought I would have preferred Ebony, but it really doesn't matter. The naked English Maple neck has a wonderful feel to it, and it seems as if it is faster than my other guitars with Nitrocellulose, and varnish finished necks. I would have loved for this to be a B2 but I guess it just is what it is. Cheers!

Doug was round here the other day and we were discussing the possibilities  of it and kicking around ideas of what we both wanted to do with our respective products , along with discussing F1 and model cars etc etc

That's interesting to know. I've heard many contradicting things about what his plans are for the future, but then that's just the way he is. At one time he was talking of doing a short run of 8-strings., wonder if that's still a possibility..

Just to note that you will not need to oil the guitar. It's already been treated with Danish oil and shouldn't need any further attention on top of the usual cleaning & fretboard care.

Thanks for the kind words.

The B6 is an awsome guitar to play it is very lively and clear. There really is no problem moving between this and the shorter scale Gibson that I sometimes experience while going back and forth from Gibson to Fenders. I am very happy with my decision to purchase the Blackmachine B6, and feel that the money was well spent and the guitar was worth the wait.

Cheers!
