Figured out how to reduce my amp hunt time.....
« on: October 22, 2008, 01:50:59 PM »
Found a new rehearsal room in leeds thats just opened that is cheaper than the one we currently use and has an awesome set of equipment..

So im just gonna move our practices over to this new place and use it to get 2-4 hours play time with various amps that they have over the next few months, obviously i shall still be searching out other amps but i believe this will be good for me.

The amps the guy said they have are as follows.

Laney GH50L
Laney VH100R
Marshall JCM800
Marshall JCM2000
Line 6 SPider Valve
Mesa Boogie Single & dual rectifiers

so i think for £26 for 2 hours with 2 of those amps a bass rig pa & ludwig drum kit its a much better deal than our current place that provides

H&K or marshall mg or VS solidstate amps + bass rig, pa & no name or percussion plus kits for £29

also the rooms are about double the size :D

That sounds like a great place!  We pay £30 for four hours for just a room and cr@p PA  :(

Where is this place? Sounds well better than where my band usually goes to practice.

The best rehearsal studios usually handle sales, as well.

I knew that was coming at some point :P

If it smokes them all why not sell your mesa instead and keep the vh100r? :P
