amp EQ setting live vs recording

hey guys, me and brain had random thought

being a bedroom shredder I don't have a clue about EQ settings for gigging so I was just wondering out of curiosity how settings differ between say live and recording?

I mostly play metal so I crank the bass, bit of treble and leave the mids on 5, but in a live environment I'm guessing you want to crank the mids to be heard and not to much bass because the bass player will want some space in the mix, would this be right or am I way off?

Pretty much, though your amp's tone and response will change quite drastically as you turn up the volume, so you generally find yourself using completely different settings live.

And every venue and stage sounds different, so you'll need to change it, especially the lows for different stages, all the time.
