Stormy Monday/Riff Raff Blues

Nuttin' special here, just a little blues on a boring Saturday afternoon. :D
Guitar: Epi LP (heavily modified) SM neck/ RR bridge
Amp: Roland Cube 20X

Got a decent blues tone out of the Cube 20X, love that amp, so versatile! :D

Forgive me for the fan hum, just pretend that it is an old film and the camera is running! :lol:

I wish I could  make my stormy monday sound like that.  Keep the clips coming. 
Have you upgraded the pickups on your new guitar yet?

No I haven't, I am content with leaving it the way it is right now.
Comparing the two guitars, the JB bridge on the ESP is very close to the RR bridge on my Epi LP. But, the SH-1 isn't even close in comparison to the SM on my Epi. The SM is just so much sweeter and cleaner. The SH-1 muddies up a bit, more undefined on the bass strings.

Its funny the Patrick Eggle Berlin I bought recently as a nice bridge pickup  a seymour duncan pearly gate.  The neck pickup is absolute rubbish though. I think its ment to be a alcino II seymour duncan.  Im doing the same not changing them for now until I get a clear idea of what its really missing. Also when money is not quite as tight.

Very nice!  When you say that the JB is very close to the RR, do you mean in quality or tone?  I'm planning to get a RR/SM for my SG type.  Why did you go for the RR/SM instead of a set of RR?  Just curious!

I should have clarified a bit better there. :D

I meant to say that the JB in my ESP Eclipse is very close to the Riff Raff in my LP as far as tone is concerned. With that said, I used to have a JB in my LP and I absolutely hated it. It was thin and screechy and the cleans were horrible. It just goes to show you how much of a difference there can be between guitars. I have been half tempted to switch the RR over to the ESP because I know it would be magic, but I hated the JB in my LP and the Riff Raff is just fantastic in the LP. I searched for a decent bridge pickup for about 2 years, none of them worked until I tried out the Riff Raff. It cuts through perfectly and the cleans are very nice for a bridge pickup.

As far as the SM is concerned, I was looking for something really sweet and clean in the neck. Tim recommended me the combination and they work together perfectly. Fantastic combination! :D
