There are some earlier cones and now Greco make them.  I have 2 Jap ones which cost me around $1,500 each.  The metal front has an Emerald/AIV Mule combo and the pearl front is AV/AIV Mules.

Hi there tell me about the guitars they sound like they are pretty much the best thing.

Both of mine are Bacchus/Tune copies.  The workmanship is amazing (they even get the shape on the back of the headstock correct).  They have different acoustic sounds because of the metal front vs the pearl.  The pearl is also a carved top.  The necks are slim but comfy, and overall the sound with the original pickups wasn't bad - they are a PAF style.  I got the metal front first because I liked the look of James Honeyman Scott's guitar.  I was always a bit dubious about the pearl front (perhaps from having a bathroom with mosaic tiles when I was growing up!).  Once I got it though, it sounds better than the metal front, more sustain and a slightly mellower tone.  I changed the pickups because I knew BK's would sound better - I wasn't ready for the sound of an AV Mule though - it is a monster pickup, great tone.  The neck mules sound like an excellent PAF.  The guitars are thinner than a Les Paul and also lighter.  If you can find one, I don't think you will be disappointed with it.

From what I understand Bacchus (and mother company Deviser) are a kind of co-op of luthiers who sometimes make their own ranges. These guys are very good, and I'm sure a few of them have either played or owned real Zemaitis so their replicas should be good. I know Tune make basses, I didn't know they made guitars too. The basses seem very good.

Phil, do you have any pics of the neck joints?

Mikey5: Check out PhillyQ's links above, and you may also be able to order from http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/international/main.htm Do a search on the Bareknuckle forum and you'll find a lot of people have used this company to order MIJ stuff.
You might also want to take a look at the Ikebe website, as far as I know they don't ship outside of Japan anymore but they do have very nice pictures.
Here are the Greco Zemaitis pages and the even more pretty and much more expensive Zemaitis Japan pages

I'll get some for you, but it is spot on for the Zemaitis one.  When I first got the metal front I thought it looked weird because the neck heel is the same depth as a bolt on neck, so I found some pictures of real Zemaitis' and that is what it is like!  There is a small lip on the lower side of the neck joint (like a Les Paul Junior but about half the width).

Cool, the first thing that struck me when I saw the GZ replicas was the neck joint, but I assumed this was as per the originals, it would be nice to see another example from another builder.

Here are some pictures of the neck joint (and another one of the guitar that I couldn't resist!).  The other really great details that they hace is the body gets thinner in the cutaway and they also have a rounding on the end of the back of the headstock.  Both of these are on the originals as one of the points to check.

Cheers Phil!
I see what you mean about the neck being like a bolt on, the 'lip' at the side is consistent with the Grecos I've seen. Good looking hardware too.

Did they ever make any bolt-on models?  Presumably they could have done it using standard necks and bodies.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
