New To BKP --- Need Help!
« on: November 06, 2008, 10:08:37 PM »
Hey everyone, im just discovering BKP and trying to decide which one to put im my ESP M-1. Im a tone freak and have tried about 10 different pickups in this guitar from duncan , dimarzio and EMG. Its a very bright sounding guitar . Heres what im looking for. I need a pickup with good low end , i like mids and a smoother bite on the high end . something that s powerful but still realitively clean. I love grind and chunk to my sound . i play mostly metal from everything form 80's metal to Nu metal. From listening to audio and researching im really liking the warpig, what are the main differences between the ceramic and the alnico pig? any other suggestions. also i was wondering about all the different cover options i thought the warpig just came either without a cover or with the distressed cover , but i have seen pics of all kinds of differn't pig covers? thanks in advance .

Try searching for some Holy Diver clips.

Most interesting abbreviation of the day :P

You choose what covers you want basically, simple.

Hi CPIG and welcome to the forum.

It is a nightmare isn't it? Myself and my wife have several sets of BK's between us and they are all great pickups, responsive, clear and with more depth than anything we've replaced.

I'm not an expert on BK's, in fact the more I learn the more I know I don't know, if you know what I mean.

We have a cpig and to my understanding the ceramic gives you a tighter sound, and I think a bit more chunk. It's an awsome pickup and very versatile.

But I think you need to have a chat with Tim at BK, you've obviously been around the block with pups and he knows how to get the sounds, if a custom wind is required, he'll also be able to tell you if you are dreaming :)

The truth is you just don't know what will happen until you drop it into the guitar, one thing that will happen is you'll think "wow, where did all that detail come from" (even if it's the wrong tone ;) )

well clearly you have to go with the Cpig to match you're user name... that's really the only option. as everyone said, i'd recommend pm'ing tim, he's a ton of help. as far as the covers... i just went over that with tim as well. you just need to put what covers you want in the comments box as you go through the checkout process.
