Thansk Phil .. et al
lots of great advice and suggestions

I began a serious lean towards Apache's after reading the posts again and thought I would check it back out with Tim

He's very sure that for what I am after and with a Maple finger board - the IT's are the kiddo's
Apache's would, IHO just be too bright.so the fingerboard appears to be a much larder consideration in choosing a pickup than I would have imagined.

So its IT's this time and I will probably get a copy Strat sometime and load it with Apache's

Question
Does anyone have an EC Signature Strat, or a +25 db mid boost adapted one ??? and if so how does this play out with the IT's .. or other BKP pickups for that matter.

I am led to believe it transforms the Strat no end and my plan was to do this alongside doing the pickups ...

Does this make sense  with BKP's ??

I was advised to get Irish Tours for my Strat. I love them, they sound lovely. I did this clip with them. The rhythm guitar is the Irish Tours and the Lead is a Cold Sweat. http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12093.0

Welcome to the forum. We're all nice and friendly here

In fact my  thanks for all the responses to this thread - I am just really impressed at the activity on this forum and the quality of the responses !! The whole thing has been a real education and the clips are real icing on the cake - how can you understand the qualities of a pickup without hearing something !!
