i have equiped all the guitars that i have with Bare Knuckle pickups and i have tested a lot of them. I am very happy as i got myself a new guitar andi am about to order a new set of bare knuckle.So here is the deal i have already in my guitars stormy mondays,piledriver,trilogy prewired pickguard,VHII and i would to ask your opinion in the next project. The guitar is a FRAMUS PANTHERA CUSTOM the its a les paul hybrid and my number one for the moment!! cant stop playing with her she is great. The tone is very acoustic and bright to my ears as the woods are mahogany/AAA maple top with an ovangol neck combined with an ebony fingerboard. The pickups that it had by factory was the Jeff beck with the 59 in the neck. I wanna bare knuckle this beauty but i dont know what to choose. I use Marshall amplification and my style is a mixture of 70s and 80s music. Some influences are Michael Schenker,Van halen,Thin Lizzy,Robin Trower,Tommy Bollin,Randy Rhoads,Black Sabbath,Frank Marino,Al di meola,Srv, Gary Moore etc etc. So i need a pickup that will be warm (nice bass )and midle focused (but not like the beck i dont like it) with crunchy highs not too much though as the guitar is already bright. In generall i like middle oriented and bright pickups and especially with this guitar i dont know what to choose :shock: :shock:
I was thinking about the Black dogs,The emeralds and the cold sweats. I will defenatelly coil tap them or make them work in parallel so what can i blend in order to play classic rock and classic heavy stuff but will be able to play some hendrix/trower blues rock stuff . Yes i understand that i cant have all in one guitar but what do you reccoment fellow musicians :lol: :lol:
