Different magnets within the same humbucker

... is this possible?  Or even desirable?

I mean having different magnet types for the north and south, and even different windings on them...

The possibilities would be endless, surely...

Mark.

Seymour Duncan has his Five-Two Strat and Tele pickups, with AV poles for more definition on the wound strings and AII poles for a sweeter sound on the unwound strings.

I suppose it's possible to mix magnets on a humbucker - most only have one magnet of course, but there would probably be ways to adapt the design.

I'm sure the old DiMarzio Super Distortion and the Duncan Distrotion both have multiple magnets - Tim would know for sure.

the pickups you mention eric do have multiple magnets in, but are they of different types?
