what BKP sounds good in MAPLE?
« on: January 26, 2009, 02:05:19 PM »
hello,

I just picked up a Carvin DC125 and want to install a Bare Knuckle into her.  the guitar has these specs:

25" scale
Neck-thru
Maple Neck and Maple Body wings
Maple fingerboard
Original Floyd trem
Single Humbucker at bridge (no neck or middle pups)
(1) 500k volume pot

I want to use this guitar for 80's metal....mainly HAIR and THRASH.  I'd like to get decent clean tones out of a single humbucker as well (if possible).  just clean enough for song intros.

any suggestions?

how about a Holy Diver?
Cold Sweat?
?????

remember, this is a neck-thru, all-maple guitar!  :o  :)

many thanks,
jon u.

Hi and welcome.

Holy Diver will work a treat in that guitar, provided it fits in the pickup route.

Hello & welcome

We had a thread on this recently - Cold Sweat might not be such a bad idea (though I've never used a CS bridge, nor do I have an all maple guitar...)

I've got a Holy Diver in my Warmoth Alder body and it sounds fantastic - meaty, clear and loud!
