Mesa 20/20 using Marshall valvestate for preamp and slave
« on: January 27, 2009, 10:11:39 AM »
I got a Marshall valvestate for 100 dollars with a 4x10" cab, but I really don't like the head.  I was looking for a power amp to use so I could just use the preamp of the Marshall and saw the Mesa 20/20.  Would it sound like a full tube amp if I ran the slave out back into the effects return for more power when needed or would it just sound a little different.  If not I'd rather get a bigger power amp.  anyone

the marshall valvestate preamp circuit is still far from 'all tube'. i would sell that head and pick something else up... a marshall vintage modern perhaps
