It would be close - I hate questions like that.......It may be a touch modern sounding. They don't really sound like anything else, none of the Matamps do, you can get lots of tones that you hear and go...'oh yeah that's like xyz...' but they're not a Marshall or a boogie or any other amp you care to mention, they're a Matamp!
If you like an amp with a fast response, there's none faster than a Matamp. They're a pig to play, any flaws in your technique and they come out loud and proud......but that's good, it makes you practice. I find I can drink as much as I want and still sound like I know what I'm doing when I use a Boogie or a Cornford - they smother everything and you can get away with lots of bad picking!!
There are one or two dealers in the US, but I don't think there's one near you. I'd avoid Matamp USA/Electric Amp Co - there's some issues between Matamp and the US distributor...... :roll:
