Some pickup advice please

Hi guys, I've been reading the forums now for a bit and I'm generally looking for some opinions.

I already have a fat strat with a Crawler/Irish Tour combo, but I recently picked up an early 90's Les Paul Studio with an ebony neck and gold hardware.

The pickups are great, but I have no idea what they are. They have that classic Les Paul sound and are pretty damn good.

However I can't shake the feeling that they could be even better with a new set of BKP's in. I'm not looking to change the sound drastically, but to make what it does even better. If anyone out there could make a suggestion as to a good replacement set and a reason why, I'd be very grateful.

Classic Les Paul sound = Mules, or maybe Stormy Mondays.

I found Riff Raffs to be a little brash, which isn't a sound I associate with an LP, but if you feel the urge then go for it and tell us how it works out!

Hi I'm new too I just installed Mules in my Gibson Les Paul Standard 04 model I put the 500k CTS pots and vitamin Q's in there I opted for the open coiled potted Mules cream on a Tran Amber finish, I'll start by saying it's the best thing I've ever done my Les Paul sounds the way a Les Paul should sound like a 1959 Les Paul lol, the Burst buckers are Good pickups but they just really didn’t do it for me, the mules give the Les Paul that really nice vintage sound especially when run through a Ashdown Fallen Angle stack all valve.

I had a similar experience with them in a 1997 Les paul Standard ;    oh - and welcome to the forum !  :)
