what i always wonder is why it adds an  extra "e" to s h i t , yet if i type s h i t e (with no spaces, obviously) it also adds an extra "e".

I think it adds an "e" no matter what letters come before or after the word.  I'll test it...

Does it add an E each time though ?

EDIT - Yes it does

I've had the amp back just over a week now and it is awesome
As pictured, my Fireball(for sale) has been removed and the Rockerverb has taken it's place on the PPC412.

It's a really simple amp and it's very easy to dial in a good sound - my only criticism here is that I think a presence control would be useful. Perhaps this is Orange's way of telling me I don't need so much top end. It's amazing how the gain varies - with the gain at 9 o'clock you get a clean sound with a little break up, at 3 o'clock it's heavily saturated and brutal.

The clean channel is excellent - I like the treble/bass only EQ, it means I have less to think about.

This is a great versatile amp that'll suit most styles. I'm into my high gain sounds, but I fancied something different from the usual modern high gain amps and this is perfect.

Rockerverbs certainly are excellent amps.

How's the noise floor on yours at higher gains (say above about 2 o'clock) ?

On my 50 Watter the background noise was unacceptable to me - suspicious that it was not normal in that respect though.

Great set up, glad your amp i sorted. I only just got me an Orange, a Tiny Terror no less. Very basic but I'm really liking it alot especially through my early 70's Orange 4 x 12

Hamfist - no more noise than you'd expect at high gain. Didn't really notice until I tried the amp earlier and listened for it.
