I bought my Eclipse used but almost brandnew still originally as a live guitar to save my SG from getting stolen or broken. In the first couple of months I did not like it, I even considered selling it again but at that time I literally needed a second guitar because I needed on in Standard tuning (the SG) and one in D Standard (the Eclipse).

After about a year of regular playing the guitar started to become much more vibrant and full-sounding. It is now -after over two years) also finally getting that broken-in feel a bit.

Overall I am really I did NOT resell it back then. I am also shocked at the big tonal difference a guitar can get through playing and aging (I always thought this was just bullshitee talk, people claiming that old stuff sounds better).

So maybe you will be just as lucky as me one day and your Eclipse will improve.

Or just get the LTD as well.  :D

Never did try those Korinas though... and I daren't touch one (or a Tokai Explorer), just in case

Well, if you're into guitars that have god-awful weighting, you can't go wrong with Epi Explorers. I love that my Gothic one, but it's so damn neck heavy the second you stand up it up-ends itself.

The same is true of the Flying Vs as well. I played a couple of Epi V's and the weighting issue was there, not as severe as total inversion, it sat horizontal! I bought by Gibbo V and it sat perfectly. Can't bugger up the balance even through trying!
