well, I have a mk V ordered, so.....
...I have my "master"  mid dial set at 4....my middle slider is slightly above 0...so I am not "scooping"...its where the reb sounds best(however, If I want to chuggachugga, down goes the slider and presto!!)...and remember, tubes change everything to a degree-you willdef. be able to "tune" those rebs in-cool thing about a Mark-lots of flexibility-I also playa few single coil guitars, totally different tones, and I can turn a knob or two and 8)-I had these pups with a mk IV as well-they seem to love simulclass....sooo much harmonic goodness

My tonal heaven is running mid gain triod and simul-class
And my eq is similar to you im running winged =C= 6L6's and i love it best tubes ive ever bought a little pricey but worth it. whenever i switch guitars i just mess wit hthe eq slider not the knobs.
Love that amp. Let me know how you like the Mark V from what i heard in the Clips it doesnt have that mark Mojo.

...cool...I am buying the mk v primarily to compare with the others-I am looking for a good workhorse gig amp so the II's dont have to go out into the "night"..talked to Mike Bendenelli at Boog about the 5-convinced it has a mojo all its own/I don't expect it to be a C+ clone, because we know what occurs between the lead drive and channel 1 volume,etc..creates that mojo, but it will be sort of a Mk IV with an improved channel II(to some) with the LOnestar vibe as well(which has me stoked...a Lonestar is seeeweeeet..my bud has one and it rivals the C+ cleans-)....we will have a difinitive shootout with IIC+'s, IIB+, Coli C+, III, Lonestar, and a mesa amp switcher all thru the same speaker cabs and tally the results!!(i like those winged c's as well...)

Envy Envy Envy Let me know how it goes! if its a similar sound to the iv im down to slam down 2k for one! im just scared because knowing mesa with there newer products stilleto lone star and roadking they all had series 1 versions which everyone hated and then series 2 which we a hell of alot better, Ill just wait for review before i make the plunge...
