Pickups for an SG
« on: March 21, 2009, 10:39:57 AM »
Hi there !

I have an old SG and i want to replace the old pickups, and i wanted to try BK for a long time . I have an Soldano HR 50 amp .

This SG guitar will replace my ESP Horizon which is equipped with EMG 81 85 so i want i quite agressive sound, but not like the ESP. Idon't want it to be harsh.

First of all i want my riffs to sound very tight. I won't play detuned  . I want the sound to be more like the 80's metal bands . I also like the sound Judas Priest used on Painkiller and Ram it Down records.

Thanks for help .
Rregards.

How about a set of Painkillers?

Yep. Painkillers are ideal here. They won't be harsh like the EMGs (no BKP will, really) and they have masses of clarity and the Judas Priest tone is there in spades, as you'd expect.
