Question for Furman power conditioner & BBE owners (UK)
« on: April 24, 2009, 02:09:00 PM »
As this isn't a BKP q, I thought I'd put it here rather than in Tech.

This is really for UK people here that own (or have owned) Furman power conditioner & BBE sonic maximizer rack units:

Do you know whether Furman & BBE make a dedicated 240 volt UK model, or do their 220v europe models work equally well here?

I'd like a Furman PL-PLUS for a rack & another BBE, am wondering if I can safely buy from le continent (well, der Kontinent to be more accurate :)) & change the 2-pin mains plug for a UK one?

Ta

i think the european model should be fine.  is it a kettle lead?  if so, should be no problem.  in the past, europe was 220v and uk was 240v, but that was with a built in variance.  uk mains is now usually listed as 230v.  in reality, equipment for both is built within the same tolerances and will be fine.

Ben's is the US model and as such is weird and strange and wouldn't work with our proper electricity  8)

Sadly both BBE & Furman have integrated/fitted leads rather than an IEC connector so I'd have to snip off the plug if I bought from Deutschland, hence the question.

When I get home I'll look at my own BBE, if it says 220 on the back, I'll know I'm OK to get the ones I was looking at...

Thanks!
