DVD Review -- RUSH, SNAKES & ARROWS LIVE

Picked up the Blu-ray of this concert yesterday.

I've watched 90% of it thus far.

VIDEO is crisp, clean, excellent black level/shadow detail. It looks good, probably as good as any concert DVD can look, but not amazing.

AUDIO is DTS Master Sound mix. Incredibly clean mix that is done very traditionally; it follows the live show's sound, not necessarily the camera's movement, unlike Scorsese's Rolling Stones masterpiece (mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain)

PERFORMANCE is where the rubber meets the road, of course, especially where Rush is concerned. I own everything Rush has put out, aside from the Retrospective "best of" releases. To date, my favourite overall Rush performance on video has been Exit ... Stage Left. It still contains THE definitive version of Freewill.

THIS DVD IS THE BEST RUSH PERFORMANCE EVER CAPTURED! The band is in phenomenal form and this DVD contains the best setlist I have ever seen from them.

Highly recommended!
