Custom Cabinet Company
Anyone tried or using their speaker cabs?
If so what do you think?

I don't really like the look of them but they have some very interesting designs! Look at this! I think it's the first time I've seen a cab with the speaker pointing upwards.

There has been quite a lot of discussion about them over on TGP. One particular acoustics and cabinet design expert has poo-poo'ed the designs, and pointed out big potential problem areas with them. The chap who has criticised them does seem to be a genuine expert in these matters, and has convinced me about it.
From what I remember the CCC designer himself admitted that there was very little science going into the designs, just a lot of experimentation , and listening to see what sounds OK. Apart from that, they produce a nice looking finished product, and seem to market them reasonably.

From what I remember hearing, this was done quite a lot in the early days of PA, but then discontinued as a viable design as there were so many compromises and problems with it.

But...

As long as it sounds good, who cares if the science doesn't add up????
