The Country Boys are lower in output with a very pure and clean tone, typical of Alnico III magnets. they do dirty up really well which always surprises players as the assumption is that they're for clean country pickers only which is not the case. They're definitely the cleanest Tele coils we make and are voiced as such rather than to replicate any particular era.
By comparison the Flat 50s are much fatter and drive the amp harder, they'll still clean up nicely though and they do have that signature early '50s Tele tone.
