new NORTHLANE recording - 5150 + BKP + metulz
« on: July 29, 2009, 06:38:49 AM »
Hey dudes, a long time lurker i haven't posted much on this forum, i have something to show for myself now so i'll quickly introduce myself, I'm Josh from the Sydney-based metal band Northlane, I use ibanez JC's and prestiges equipped with ceramic warpigs & painkillers, a bias modded mkI 5150 among other things. Some of you may know me from other forums such as sevenstring.org & Bmusic. Onto more important matters...

Just spent the last 2 days tracking this with our mate trep,
for guitars we used my bias modded 5150 MKI into my mesa rectifier cab, boosted with a chaos modded (Bodenhamer electronics) maxon OD808.
we also used the same micing technique as used by Frederick Nordstrom.
All guitars are single-tracked.
left - ibanez RG8420 (seymour custom 5 & jazz)
right - ibanez RGT320Q (BKP ceramic warpig set)

drums were all live tracked, first time we haven't used programmed drums.
We're quite happy with how it turned out, this is almost where we want our EP to be sonically which will be done at the end of the year.
Enjoy & give me as much feedback as you can,
its called "set in stone"
