The guitar looks very good! Now, that alder + maple is a very versatile combination, which can take a lot of different pickups. When I asked Tim about a pickup set for a alder body / all-maple neck strat (brothers guitar), I also gave reference about what the CS set did to a PRS McCarty, which has a tone pretty much like an LP. Close to what you said here. I also gave some other references, and in the end was recommended a Nailbomb set. Worked wonderfully in that guitar, it being warm but clear, with a wonderful chime and a tight attack due to the maple fretboard.
Now the alder + maple is not scooped, it's balanced and tight. Many have referred the Pau ferro fretboard as being somewhere between rosewood and ebony. Which should mean that it has a crisper attack than rosewood and also more lows and highs.
I wouldn't rule out alnico and even lower output pickups. They have a wonderful dynamic clarity, and your Suhr has naturally tighter tone and more highs than an LP. So different that I would probably steer away from the CS/C-bomb family if you want the same kind of response than what happened with your LP..
Now like I said, the alder + maple is a very versatile combination. It works with the Nailbomb, it works with the HD. On the lower output scale, I would probably go with the Black dog (more mids and thicker than the Mule). Or maybe Emerald, which is supposed to be a bigger and hotter VHII.
