I like to jam, even if only with a drummer or another guitarist, and record all with the Tascam DR-1

Important is to use a metronome to keep things clean rhythm wise.

Then later I cut loops and play with them in Logic.

Unless I wanna write a la-la-la song, then I take the acoustic.

I like to write on the acoustic in fact.

gonna book a day in a practice room, and start getting our bassist up. ive known him a long time and we both think the same way on stuff. im also moving house soon so im gonna have a good clear out and a change of environment. that might help too.

last time i had something done, i spent all day walking round going over riffs in my head, and then eventually i just wrote the extra parts in my head, went home and jammed it. that still needs work, but at least its pretty much 1 down.

I just take a break from guitar for a week or so when I cant come up with anything good. Gives me time to think about it, without getting frustrated. Also gives me time to do other things rather than sitting around in my room getting annoyed :)
