i was at the Cambridge folk festival last weekend,Booker T Jones was playing with his band which included Marc Ford on lead guitar, he has that a killer tone from his LP type guitar! i was in the studio last night with my band and i tell you guys with my Abraxas set in my Tokai LP it was blues heaven, i am soooo glad i have these pickups, they sing sing sing.........back in tonight me thinks...

Marc Ford's in the above clip guitar looks like a Hofner with Firebird style mini-humbuckers. Nice tone, Neil Young-ish  :)

absolutely spot on,it was a Hofner type thang,Neil Young is on the current Booker T cd so there was some of that going on....it was fantastic to be down the front though,,,loud & beautiful...

Speaking of Neil Young,

I saw him play at the Big Day Out in Australia this year. Amazing stuff.

There's a comment below the vid that says that Marc Ford is Robben Fords brother, that's not true is it?

I must say that those Abraxas sound mighty intriguing and this review makes me wish I had a pair, but then again every review of BKPs makes me wish a had a pair and I don't even have enough guitars to fit'em in.

There's a comment below the vid that says that Marc Ford is Robben Fords brother, that's not true is it?

Robben has a brother called Mark who played harmonica in his first band. This maybe the source of the confusion  :)

they are glorious in my LP type Tokai,i did have PG blues in it and as good as they were, i just wanted some more ooomph and this is where i got it. i tell ya i love em,you know when you get into "that place" when youre playing! its like that every time with these,soz for ravin on about em but they are just that good to me.

the Robben Ford Marc Ford link though i have no idea about.....

No, they're not, that's the point!  :lol:

Mark Ford is Robben Ford's brother.  Marc Ford isn't.
