Pickup repair.
« on: September 04, 2009, 10:03:50 AM »
I've just bought some used BK pups. They are a Strat set ,but I dont know which ones. The seller buys and sells guitars and took them out because the neck pup is not working. How would I find out which set they are?Is it worth having a repair done or should I just buy a new pup?

I'd send the lot back to BKP, ask them to fix the neck pickup and identify the set.

it would depend whats broken.. but in worst case a coil rewind I would have thought. worth it, i'd say

Give BKP a call is your best bet, they're very helpful on the phone  :)

As long as you got the pickups cheap, it should be worth doing!

Give 'em a buzz. If the options you're considering are repair or buy a replacement BKP, and it does amount to a rewind, I believe the rewind is cheaper than a new pup...

And I suspect if you sent all three they'd throw in answers to "what BKPs are these then?" for free :D

To me they look pretty much like Apaches due to the slightly lower G magnet. The '54 stagger.

Marantz - I sent you a PM
