Hey, doods, I know I already made a post like this, but I wanted to hear some new suggestions based on my changes in taste. Basically, what I'm looking for in the bridge is a nice, tight, warm, lowmid crunch that cleans up real well, and would blend in with a single-coil middle pickup. I was thinking of a Holy Diver for that. I would like a middle pickup that is nice and funky and clean all by itself, and would blend in nicely with the bridge and neck in the 2 and 4 position. Warm, too. I can't decide for the middle if I should get a Trilogy Suite, or a Mother's Milk. The dillemma that I having is that if I should have a low output chimy middle pu, or a high output one to blend in the humbuckers. I'm not sure if that'll be too much of a probelm in the long run. I feel that if I get a high output model, I'll lose the Fender chimey clean, and that if I go too low, that it'll be too weak, basically. So any advice on that would be nice.
As for the neck pu, I've been really stressing about which one to get...I was thinking a low output model would work best for really nice clear focused warm thick snappy high gain lead tones that offer good harmonics, but I don't want too weak of a humbucker..I was thinking maybe an A4 VHII? The neck pickup should also offer great clean tones by itself, and be able to blend in with the singlecoil pu. Mebbe I'm asking too much? XD
The guitar that these pickups are going into are an alder body, bolt-on, with an ebony fretboard/flame maple neck, running into a high gain tube amp.
My favorite bands are Loudness, Testament, Dio, Savatage etc. I even like the guitar tones of Jesse Pintado, of Napalm Death, but they have that really good low-mid crunch in there, so that's probably why.
Is all lost? Should I just e-mail Tim? lol.
