Very nice, thats the only one I havnt had. Top choices for me are the Shiva, and xtc 100A. I think that was the one. But I always wanted to try the uber. Shiva has to be my current fav from them.

OH and please compare the Uberschall and the Avenger. I would be very curious to hear the difference.

Hmmm its pretty different. The uber a bigger bass response without a depth control but it still sounds bright. It's character changes at volume, for the better, and the avenger doesn't have the mid sweep control that the uber presence functions as.

The avenger sounds a bit Marshall still and uses a cold biased ecc83 triode stage which is q signature of the slo and its in a bunch of amps but not the uber, which may surprise some.

They are different beasts

my 800 is sounding awesome. i just want to tweak it a bit more.

I might try and record a comparison between my Avenger and my modded JCM800.

Man those are my two very favorite amps Jcm 800 is numero uno for me. I also dig the Orange Rockerverb

Out of curiosity what kind of mods do you have?

my 800 has an extra preamp gain stage and the preamp is reconfigured to be very similar to the SLO.
the power stage is the same sort of thing, plus i used the older JCM800 2205 schematic and copied the PPIMV control out of that into mine. So i kind of have a mot rodded JCM 800 2205 with a PPIMV, which is like a 50 watt Avenger.
I also Added a depth control using a schematic sent to me by Bill @ soldano, and removed the reverb circuit.
