Need some tube help.
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:46:56 AM »
Well... sad to say it but, I'm a little new to tube amps  I still have the stock tubes from my new B-52 ATX-100 head.

I know the tubes in my amp aren't very good (it's a b-52, good sound, but noisy cheap tubes :().

I'm wondering what you helpful guys here would reccomend I get for a re-tube of this amp for a high gain tone.
Let me expand upon this idea of my tone... :D
I like a nice crunchy high gain, with plenty of growling low end, enough treble to give a crunchy edge to my tone, and an emphasis on a low-mid kinda grind and grit to my tone. Which tubes would help me achieve this?

I'm already mostly happy with my tone, I just want a bit, well, more! I feel it needs more push and agressiveness. I would also like a lot less hiss :P

I've been looking at eurotubes, but I'd like to hear from you guys here. You have always been helpful when I needed answers, so I come once again in my time of tone-questing need :D
