What do you suggest for my Charvel 750XL?
« on: October 15, 2009, 01:08:47 PM »
I want to swap only the bridge pickup. I play metalcore/melodic death. The guitar is maoghany, maple and rosewood!
I need somthing powerful but with a good definition. I hate crispy highs!

here it is a (very bad) pic oh the guitar...i'll made better photos soon!

Firtly, I think you should sell or give it to me because the 750XL is a lovely guitar & I bitterly regret selling mine... :)

Joking aside, it depends on what you call "crispy highs", but the Cold Sweat would be absolutely wonderful in that guitar.  Miracle Man would also work great.

Do you ever need to play clean with the bridge pickup?
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I have sold one years ago...and i have hated me for that. Now fortunately i've found another one and i get it. I have also the 650Xl...they are good sisters

Anyway, the genre i play doesn't need clean sounds  :D It is something like this:

I can't speak english very well...crispy highs...is like harsh...i don't want any buzz buzz (i don't use scooped EQs).

Cold Sweat would do that well, probably better than MM, in that guitar.

Everytime I see a Charvel, I want one just to play Savatage licks on.

I'd say Cold Sweat for that thicker guitar sound, the PK is a bit too trebly imo.

In the end i've decided for a painkiller, tested on a guitar owned by a friend of mine.
I'll drop some lines about it when i load it in the Charvellllll
