Black Dog clip
« on: October 26, 2009, 04:49:02 PM »
Hi all,

I installed a set of Black Dogs this weekend, and recorded a quick before and after.

Before : Gibson Les Paul Standard DC with a Classic 57 Plus in the bridge and a Burstbucker pro in the neck
After : same guitar  :P with the Black Dogs

First a shaky Song Remains The Same before/after featuring a clean boost in places, then Highway To Hell b/a no boost at all, then some clean going through the switch b/a, and finally, I couldn't resist, PF's Time solo with the new ones.
There are bumnotes, yes, there are.

Amps : Orange Tiny Terror through a Fad 1x12 Jensen Tornado cab, Orange Rocker 30 through a Bogner OS212.  No double tracking, just the two amps at the same time through a deactivated TC Nova (which colours the sound in a good way imo)

I already had a Mule in my Viper Deluxe which is in D, and at rehearsals, the difference between the two guitars was just too much.  Also the 57 was too microphonic.  I'll have to way for a rehearsal test till later this week.
On its own, it's definitely much clearer, fatter and detailed than before, although the Mule in the Viper seems warmer, and strangely, hotter.

Anyway, you can find it at my brandnew personal myspace

I think you can guess which one it is by the title

thanks,

Jan

edit : woops, wrong thread, you can delete this one mods.
