neck pup for a C-Pig? awesome cleans needed =)
« on: November 07, 2009, 03:50:08 AM »
alrighty, i have 2 guitars coming in, one is a 7 string Music man Petrucci with a basswood body, maple neck and rosewood board. the other is a 6 string version of the same guitar but with an ebony board.

i think both will get a C-Pig in the bridge. what would make a good neck pickup choice for each guitar? no problem if they happen to be the same. i need neck pickup to do your usual metal lead stuff, i like it clear and resonant, like an EMG60 but richer and not sterile like the emg is. and i'd like to hear a bit more of the wood coming thru. i already did some listening but i want to hear what you guys think =)

Cold Sweat neck pickup is very popular for your application,

Cold sweat is right. Its usually a good guess with the 'goes with a cpig but for cleans', and you sealed it with the EMG60 but...stuff

i actually thought as much. my got leaned towards the holy diver with it's added treble but that opeth style clip with the bogner sealed it for me, even if my guitar is way different.. but i had read alot about ppl going with CS for the neck.
