Hi there,

Could someone help me to choose a perfect pair set for my les paul standard to get that Jimmy s Page sound.

I heard that Black dogs are a bit darker and bassy than riff raffs, also should i get mules, IV alnico, unpotted for the neck.

Then comes a 4 way Page s wiring stuff, how many pots push pull  500k or 1mg and wich value capacitors are need for the job.

Any information about all this parts will be appreciate.

Cheers

I would say Mules for an overall great Zep-type tone, the Black Dogs are too dark on the bass end and too bright on the top end for me - a very specific Zep tone imo.  Mules are where its at and more versatile, imo.

Have anyone  tried a Jimmy Page s wiring,  How i can do it, what i need for this upgrade?

Probabily i will use mules for neck and riff raff open coil for bridge position.

Any other sugestions

Cheers

so you want a hotter bridge pickup while retaining the PAF sound? - Abraxas all the way, its what I use in my own Les Paul (used to have Mules).
