Black Dog in bridge in middle eastern-style heavy rock track
« on: January 10, 2010, 07:45:56 PM »
Hi all
First off, I am new here, but have been lurking and listening to clips for several months to help me decide on some pickups, so thanks so much to everyone that posts clips here. It really is an incredibly useful resource.

Anyway, I recently got a Black Dog bridge and overwound Sultan middle to go into one of my guitars (HSH, bolt-on, korina body and maple neck). The neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan 59. The black dog works well in it: still sufficiently vintage, but thicker and less bright than the 59 it replaced, which is exactly what i wanted.

We recently went to the recording studio, and the track 'Fragments' uses the Black dog for the heavy bits all the way through, and the black dog with the 59 for the clean bits. There is more pre-amp gain than i really planned for in the heavy bits, but I hope the track is still useful.

thanks again
