OLC circuits
« on: November 25, 2009, 06:29:23 PM »
i recently stumbled upon these while looking for some more pedals to build and mod (i recently built a GGG P45 and boy is it a watery smooth phaser!) and i thought i should share, though i know some of you guys may already know. these seem like fine stompboxes. i like this one http://olcircuits.com/olc_eclipsevalve.html but i'm also looking to build the Thor and maybe the tube cricket http://olcircuits.com/olc_tubecricket.html

anyone tried these?

Yeah I've tried the SLO clone twice now. Neither worked. Unclear diagrams was a hinderance, the schematic i had didn't match up the circuit board in front of me. Good luck though.

Ha!  I know exactly what you mean.

Tried the Orange Peel - the soundclip sounded brilliant.

It's sitting upstairs on my "shelf of shame"...  along with the BYOC Overdrive that I fcuked up.

hmm. i guess i'll have to be more careful with those kits then and do my homework. i've got a few amp mods and pedal mods and builds under my belt and i understand electronics, so i figure that if i use my brains and try to see how the actual circuit works, i should be fine.

alot of their clones are based on preamp stages of famous amps. and i've done so much studying of my valve junior that i can probably just follow through the schematic and figure out what to do. just like when i added a tone stack to that amp. :D
