Slide guitar pup?
« on: December 12, 2009, 04:15:31 AM »
This is my Gordon Smith slide guitar. I took out the bridge HB and chiseled in a tele MIJ neck pup. It already sounds pretty good (direct to jack), but it's time to get it Knuckled. I already have a Country Boy neck in my Tele and I love it, the question is should I get the same pup for this one or go for a brown sugar. I know a CB would please me in this role, but two things are nudging me towards the BS. 1, I tend to play with more drive on slide and 2, I love variety so would therefore be interested to land another BKP in my collection. I'd appreciate any views or suggestions.

Tim made me a tele bridge sized lap steel pickup for my WezV lap steel bender.  It is 10K and is based on the Fender Champion pickup (I think!), and sounds great (lots of fun with the benders).
So many pickups, so little time

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear, it's the neck pup I'm going to replace. I want to keep this guitar as simple as possible, single tele neck direct to jack.
