Miracle Man question
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:26:59 PM »
I recently got a set of Miracle Man's, and i was just checking if the neck pickup was alnico V or ceramic. I guessed it would be alnico V, seeing as how the set is modelled on the 81/85 combo, but just wanted to be sure.

It's AV, and it has the same DCR as the neck, approx. 17.5k.

(Sorry to hijack), has anyone used a MM neck as a bridge?

Yep, it's A5.  The Painkiller is the only ceramic neck pickup BKP make...

Jon @ Feline is your man for that... He's had great success putting a neck MM in the bridge position - He said to me that it is very similar to the Suhr Doug Aldrich bridge pickup.

I love the MM neck but have only experienced it in that position.

never tried the Aldrich, but the MM neck in the bridge reminded me of the Dimarzio Tone Zone or maybe an overwound Holy Diver with less top end and more bass
