I found a Carvin DC 127 for around 400$. The problem is that the previous owner did a pretty terrible job of spraying clear coat over the entire guitar (even the pickups). He didn't spray it on the fret board though but he did on the neck. The guitar has some minor pitting on the first 5 frets. My question is... do you think with the issues that the guitar is worth buying and if so will the clear coat mess with anything? I plan on changing the pickups to BKs. I just know nothing about the technical side of guitars and just wanted to see if I was making a bad decision because of ignorance. Thanks for any help.

Makes me wonder why he sprayed it with clearcoat?

Is the original finish OK?

As far as I know the original finish is fine. I have no clue what he was thinking.
