PK for mh-1000?
« on: January 12, 2010, 01:52:41 AM »
Yes another recommend me a pup thread. I ordered an LTD MH-1000 NT and plan to swap out the pick ups. It seems that for drop tuned metal and a mahogany bodied guitar Painkillers get recommended.

I like a very raw sound (think 5150, but I have a XXX at the moment), but need some tight leads too because I play technical death metal and other detuned metal. Any other pickups I should consider for the mh-1000 (mahogany body with quilted maple top, maple neck with rosewood fretboard).

Thanks in advance  :D.

Also would I want the long leg or short leg? I'm guessing I should go with the short just in case.

Should I get 4 conductor or 2? I was thinking 2 to make things easier when installing them, but I would lose coil splitting correct? If I don't play any cleans really would it still be a bad idea to get the 2?
