Pickups for Mahogany Bernie Rico Jr. 627
« on: February 07, 2010, 11:53:06 AM »
Hello everyone, I am new to BKP's website but I have been wanting to try some of Tim's pups for a long time.

Here are the guitars specs:
Bolt-On Unfinished Maple Neck
Mahogany Body
Ebony Board
27 Frets
25.5 Scale
Floyd Rose

I have been doing some reading on different pickup variations and if I understand correctly then my best bet would be a nailbomb ceramic in the bridge and a cold sweat neck. Some recorded guitar tones that I really like are the new august burns red album (rhythms and leads), between the buried and me's tones across the range and jon schaffer of iced earth's rhythm tone. I think all of those bands have very tight sounding rhythm tones and very fluid and warm lead tones. Maybe I am wrong, but that is why I have come here to ask you guys, the experts! :) I will also e-mail Tim directly to get his feelings.
