Yes. I did it several times.
The result is about a 20-30% higher output than with a single humbucker with a blured and quite confussing sound.
Imagine that you run a fuzz at high gain, where there is a lot of meat but notes begin to loose their definition.
The "20-30% higher ouptut" (perceived, at least) is about what I'd expect given my experience with 2 SC series.
wrt/ the resulting tone, I guess this depends quite a lot on how hot and defined the 'buckers are... I used to have DM X2N's on my Vox Custom 24 (stock pups...), which are *way* hotter (DC _and_ output level) than PAFs, and given the difference - same guitar, same amp - with the Crawlers (which are already a bit on the hot side), I don't think that you'd get the same kind of results with X2Ns serial or Mules serial - X2Ns serial would indeed be
way over the top (your description kind of reminds me of what I used to get with these cr@ps ), Mules serial, well, might be interesting for heavy stuff
If I may ask, with what pups did you try (don't care that much about the exact make and model - more about the type, magnet, and hotness).
Thanks for your input.
